Sheets to miss 2011 season: A's SP Ben Sheets, on the 60-day disabled list after undergoing Tommy John surgery on his elbow, said Friday he will miss the 2011season and is unsure as to whether he'll ever pitch again. "My arm is gonna tell me," he said. "I'm not going to pitch like I did this year -- results-oriented -- but if my arm feels great, I'll give it a shot. Up in the air." (Updated 08/27/2010)

Fantasy Analysis
This is not good news for Sheets, who career is now in jeopardy. He had mixed results in 2010 after taking last season off. He went 4-9 with a 4.53 ERA. Clearly, injuries have derailed his career and Sheets is not the pitcher he used to be. Even if he returns in 2012, he will be an injury-risk option. Don't bother holding onto Sheets in long-term Fantasy leagues. (Updated 08/27/2010).
