|(4/13/15) Blue Jays general manager Alex Anthopoulos said starting pitcher Johan Santana (shoulder) continues to progress "a little bit slower than expected" on his throwing program, per Sportsnet.ca. Still, Toronto has no timetable for his return.
“We’ll re-evaluate him at the end of the month," Anthopoulos said.

|(4/7/15) Blue Jays pitcher Johan Santana is making progress toward a return to the mound, according to the Toronto Sun. Santana was signed to a minor-league contract in February. He has been using weighted balls during pitching exercises to strengthen his shoulder muscles.
"He's making some progress," manager John Gibbons said on Monday. "We've had a lot of guys who've had success with the weighted ball program and we hope it'll work for him."
The former Cy Young winner, 35, hasn't pitched in a regular season game since 2012 while with the Mets.

|(3/31/15) The Blue Jays have decided to pay a $100,000 retention bonus to pitcher Johan Santana to keep him in the organization, Yahoo! Sports reports.
Manager John Gibbons said recently that Santana could be ready to return to the mound in mid-April. He's working his way back from shoulder and Achilles issues.

|(3/28/15) Blue Jays pitcher Johan Santana could return to the mound by mid-April, manager John Gibbons told the media.
Santana is returning from shoulder and Achilles problems and is working his way back into playing form slowly.
"I'm guessing, from what I heard, don't hold me to it, but they're hoping by the middle of April," Gibbons said, per MLB.com's Gregor Chisholm.

|(3/6/15) Blue Jays pitcher Johan Santana is throwing off flat ground, according to MLB.com.
Santana is attempting a comeback this season, but dealt with some arm issues during the offseason. There's currently no timetable for Santana to throw off a mound. At this point, it seems unlikely Santana will be ready by opening day.
Manager John Gibbons said Santana will know when he's ready to go. "It's just kind of [depends on] how it feels," Gibbons said. "He'll let those guys know when he's ready."
Santana posted a 4.85 ERA over 117 innings in 2012.
