Vargas comes out of retirement : The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, reports that the Brewers signed pitcher Claudio Vargas to a minor-league contract on Wednesday. "It's not major-league interest. It's Triple-A interest," assistant general manager Gord Ash said. "We're not satisfied with what we have there in the rotation, so we're looking to try and get better." (Updated 05/16/2012)

Fantasy Analysis
Vargas pitched for Milwaukee in 2007, 2009 and 2010. Apparently Vargas had been pitching in Mexico, and wasn't retired, according to Ash. "He was a closer for a team in Mexico. I got a call from his agent who said he had an opportunity to get out of that deal, and would we have interest at the time -- which was about three weeks ago," Ash said. "He didn't have a visa, so he had to go back to the Dominican to get a visa to come over. So he's with Nashville now, just getting stretched out to the point where he can get into the rotation." Regardless of where he's pitching, Fantasy owners shouldn't pay any attention to Vargas at this time. (Updated 05/16/2012).
