Noah Syndergaard thriving since worst outing
by Michael Hurcomb \| CBSSports.com (5/15/13) Mets starting pitcher prospect Noah Syndergaard has been outstanding for Class A St. Lucie since allowing a season-high seven runs April 18 against Fort Myers. Syndergaard has allowed a total of four runs (two earned) in his last four starts, bringing his ERA down to 2.61. Syndergaard has gone at least six innings in each of his last four starts and has managed at least five strikeouts three times in that span. He is 2-1 with a .254 opponents' batting average, 38 strikeouts, 13 walks and one home run allowed in 38 innings this season. The right-hander, who was picked up in the offseason in a trade with Toronto, entered the season as the Mets' third-best prospect, according to MLB.com.

Noah Syndergaard living up to billing at Class A

Syndergaard also struck out five. Snydergaard has allowed two or fewer runs in five of six starts. He is 1-1 with a 2.90 ERA and .274 opponents' batting average. He has 31 strikeouts, 12 walks and one home run allowed in 31 innings. Syndergaard is considered the Mets' third-best prospect by MLB.com.

Noah Syndergaard offers glimpse into future
by Bill Passonno \| CBSSports.com (4/7/13) Mets prospect Noah Syndergaard -- one of several heavily touted pitchers in the organization -- made his season debut Sunday, working four scoreless innings for Class A St. Lucie against Jupiter (Miami). Syndergaard, who was part of the package that sent catcher Travis d’Arnaud to New York in exchange for R.A. Dickey, allowed three hits, walked one and struck out five. At just 20 years old, the right-hander is not expected to rise to the majors until at least the 2014 season.

Syndergaard gets to work as Met

It's the first step in what the organization hopes will be a successful path to the majors for the 20-year-old, who was acquired as part of the offseason trade that sent Cy Young Award winner R.A. Dickey to Toronto. "Just being traded for the Cy Young Award winner has put a little nerves on me," Syndergaard told MLB.com. "I'm going to work as hard as I can to get my way up to the big leagues, get to New York."

Syndergaard moves on to Mets
by Scott White \| Senior Fantasy Writer (12/17/12) The Blue Jays have shipped starting pitcher prospect Noah Syndergaard, along with catcher prospect Travis d'Arnaud, veteran catcher John Buck and outfield prospect Wulimer Becerra, to the Mets for starting pitcher R.A. Dickey, catcher Josh Thole and catcher Mike Nickeas. The deal had been in the works all weekend but was contingent on the Blue Jays agreeing to an extension with Dickey, which happened Monday.
