Biddle working on tempo in minors: The Philadelphia Inquirer reports Phillies SP prospect Jesse Biddle, who is pitching for Class A Lakewood, has been working on finding the right tempo this season. "If I'm working quick, I'm not going to think too much and hopefully the hitter's not going to think too much, because I don't really want them to," Biddle said. "I know what pitch I want to throw and I want [the hitter] to be guessing. When they don't have any time to think at all, they're not going to have time to react, either." Biddle has enjoyed mixed results this season, posting a 3-5 record, 3.99 ERA and 1.40 WHIP in 11 starts. He has 50 strikeouts to 29 walks in 56 1/3 innings. (Updated 06/07/2011)

Fantasy Analysis
Biddle joins a slew of prized Phillies' pitching prospects that include Brody Colvin, Jarred Cosart and Trevor May. Biddle has frontline starter potential and is often compared to Brian Matusz of the Orioles. But clearly the 19-year-old hurler has to work on refining his tempo and lowering his WHIP before be makes it to the majors. Biddle is nothing more than a long-term Fantasy keeper.
