| Roman Mendez's season comes to an end at Double-A |

(5/31/13) Rangers pitching prospect Roman Mendez has undergone season-ending surgery to repair a stress fracture in his right elbow, the Rangers announced Friday.
Mendez had a 1.82 ERA in 24 2/3 innings of relief at Double-A Fresco.

(3/8/13) The Rangers optioned pitching prospect Roman Mendez to Double-A Frisco on Friday. Mendez was dealing with a stress fracture in his right (throwing) elbow prior to spring training, which limited him in the early part of camp. He did not make a Cactus League appearance.

(2/5/13) The Dallas Morning News reports Rangers prospect Romon Mendez is sidelined with a stress fracture in his pitching elbow. General manager Jon Daniels said Tuesday Mendez's injury was discovered in October and he is currently rehabbing in Arizona. Mendez will be limited when spring training opens.
