Zach Lee pitches two scoreless innings in spring debut

by R.J. White | CBSSports.com
(3/7/14) Making his spring debut Friday, Dodgers pitcher Zach Lee allowed two hits and struck out one over two scoreless innings in his team's 2-1 win over the Rangers.

"I felt fine going out there and my arm felt good," Lee told MLB.com after the start. "I didn't know how many innings I was going to go from the get-go, so it was one of those things where I was going to keep going until they took me out. I was preparing myself for the third inning."

Lee is optimistic he's close to making his major-league debut.

"I think it's one of those things where I will keep working and continue to get better, and we'll see where it goes," Lee said. "At this moment, I feel like if I continue to throw the ball well like I am capable of, I don't think I'm that far away."

Lee went 10-10 with a 3.22 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 131:35 K:BB ratio in 142 2/3 innings with Double-A Chattanooga last season.
