Kyle Parker added back to Rockies' roster
by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com
(7/8/14) Rockies outfielder Kyle Parker was recalled from Triple-A Colorado Springs Tuesday. Parker, who was hitless in six at-bats with four strikeouts in his first appearance with Colorado, is batting .262 with one home run, two doubles and four RBI in his last 10 games for Colorado Springs.
Kyle Parker sent down Saturday
by Chris Cwik | CBSSports.com
(6/21/14) Rockies infielder Kyle Parker has been optioned to the minors Saturday.

Parker was sent down in order to make room for starting pitcher Christian Friedrich. Parker received just six at-bats in the majors.

Kyle Parker could fill Michael Cuddyer's role for Rockies
by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com
(6/17/14) Rockies manager Walt Weiss said outfielder/first baseman Kyle Parker, who was promoted from Triple-A Colorado Springs Monday, could fill Michael Cuddyer's role in the lineup, while the veteran major leaguer is out until August with a broken left shoulder socket.

"Potentially it could be a nice fit with Cuddy being out, but we'll see how it all plays out," Weiss said, per The Denver Post.

Although Parker won't be considered a starter, Weiss will try to find at-bats for the 2010 first-round pick. Parker hit .293 with a .370 on-base percentage, .504 slugging percentage and .874 OPS in 409 games in his minor-league career.

"This is a good opportunity for Kyle. He's been on our radar since spring training," Weiss said. "We feel like he's going to be in impact offensive player in this league."

Rockies promote Kyle Parker from Triple-A
by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
(6/16/14) The Rockies have officially promoted outfield/first base prospect Kyle Parker from Triple-A Colorado Springs, MLB.com reports. Parker batted .292 with a .347 on-base percentage, .478 slugging percentage and .825 OPS in 66 games for Colorado Springs.
Kyle Parker's playing time in question
by Scott White | Senior Fantasy Writer
(6/16/14) My initial reaction to the news of Kyle Parker's promotion Monday was "well, where do the Rockies play him?" They seem to have too many outfielders at it is, often sitting Charlie Blackmon or Corey Dickerson to get Drew Stubbs or Brandon Barnes more involved. Will Parker only added to the clutter without making a real impact of his own?

It's possible. It's also possible he's manager Walt Weiss' excuse to sit Justin Morneau against lefties since Wilin Rosario at first base may not be a valid answer.

Then again, with Carlos Gonzalez and Michael Cuddyer both out for an extended period of time, Parker could end up getting the majority of the at-bats in right field, where he was playing most often at Triple-A Colorado Springs. Prior to their injuries, Stubbs and Barnes played almost exclusively against lefties, so if Weiss were to "force the issue" with one, it would presumably be the one with the most upside.

Then again, Weiss has done some nutty things with his lineup so far this season, so instead of trying to get in his head, perhaps I should just reflect on Parker's upside. He's certainly not on the level of Gregory Polanco or Oscar Taveras, but he's a legit prospect with some power potential. His arrival shouldn't send you rushing to the waiver wire outside of NL-only leagues, though.
