|(4/23/15) Right-hander Brandon Kintzler has cleared waivers and has been sent by the Brewers to Triple-A Colorado Springs. He was designated for assignment Tuesday.
Kintzler has experienced a bit of a drop in his career. He earned 135 relief appearances for Milwaukee over the past two seasons combined.
Brewers place 2B Scooter Gennett on DL, make minor moves
|by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com|
|(4/21/15) The injury-ravaged and floundering Brewers have placed second baseman Scooter Gennett on the disabled list with a left hand laceration. Four of their top position players are down.
His problem has festered since cutting his hand in the shower. The original diagnosis was that he was to likely miss two games. He's expected to return after his 15 days are up, per the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. Once he returns, he will attempt to improve a .207/.303/.207 slash line. Gennett has six singles all year.
The move motivated the Brewers to promote infielder/outfielder Elian Herrera from Triple-A and designate for assignment right-hander Brandon Kintzler.

|(3/29/15) The Brewers have optioned pitcher Brandon Kintzler to Triple-A Colorado Springs, the team announced Sunday.
Kintzler has made 135 appearances for the Brewers over the last two seasons but managed just 31 strikeouts in 58 1/3 innings last season while posting a 3.24 ERA. He gave up six earned runs in 8 1/3 innings this spring.
Brewers' Kintzler ready to bounce back after injury plagued 2014
|by Brandon Wise | CBSSports.com|
|(3/4/15) Brewers pitcher Brandon Kintzler was been bit by the injury bug in 2014. Kintzler was forced to go under the knife with a knee injury last year while dealing with a shoulder issue as well, allowing him to pitch just 58 1/3 innings, posting a 3.24 ERA and 31 strikeouts.
"My arm hasn't felt this good in a while. It feels live," Kintzler said. "I feel like my alignment, my mechanics, is right where I need it to be."
Kintzler also said he wasn't in the right mindset in 2014.
"Mentally, I just wasn't right because I was thinking of mechanics so much," said Kintzler, 30. "I had to go 'around' my knee, and as a sinkerballer, I need to get up over that knee. I would throw one really good sinker and go, 'Yeah, that's it.' Then, the next one, my arm couldn't get there, and it's a flat sinker and a homer. That was so frustrating. I couldn't be consistent."
Brewers' Brandon Kintzler hoping for better health in 2015
|by Chris Cwik | CBSSports.com|
|(2/23/15) Brewers pitcher Brandon Kintzler is hoping for better health in 2015, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel.
Kintzler pitched through a slightly torn patellar tendon last season, and said the issue led to more strain on his arm. "It's a beating on your lower half all the time," he said. "Not many people think about it like that. Your arm has to take a longer path. It’s just not good, anytime you’ve got to change your path."
Kintzler didn't tell the team about the issue until after Milwaukee was eliminated from the playoffs. At that point, he opted to have surgery. While he hasn't been able to run just yet, Kintzler has no restrictions on throwing during camp. "It’s just so much easier on my arm," he said. "Even playing catch – I haven’t been that live in a while to where I can just let it fly."
The 30-year-old posted a 3.24 ERA over 58 1/3 innings last year.
