(5/17/13) The Marlins have purchased the contract of pitcher Duane Below Friday.
Below went 2-2 with a 3.38 ERA in four starts at Triple-A New Orleans. The left-hander went 1-2 with a 2.10 ERA in four starts at Triple-A Toledo before he was claimed by the Marlins on April 25.

(4/25/13) The Marlins have claimed Tigers pitcher Duane Below and have sent him to Triple-A New Orleans.
Below was designated for assignment by the Tigers to make room for Jose Valverde. Below, 27, has a career 4.06 ERA and 4.14 FIP in 75 1/3 innings.

(3/19/13) The Detroit Tigers made a host of roster moves Tuesday, optioning pitchers Duane Below, Jose Ortega and catcher Bryan Holaday to Triple-A Toledo and optioning second baseman Hernan Perez to Double-A Erie. Detroit also reassigned outfielders Nick Castellanos and Tyler Collins, shortstop Argenis Diaz and pitcher Trevor Bell to its minor-league camp.
