| Royals option Donnie Joseph to Triple-A |

(3/27/13) The Royals have optioned pitcher Donnie Joseph to Triple-A. The 25-year-old has yet to make his major-league debut, spending most of last year at Triple-A. He had a strong spring, with a 1.80 ERA in 10 innings, but it wasn’t enough to make the opening day roster.

(3/17/13) Royals reliever Donnie Joseph has been working with pitching coach Dave Eiland on improving his delivery. According to the Kansas City Star, Joseph was slow to remove his hand out of his glove during his delivery at the start of camp.
"We immediately started working on getting my arm out quicker," Joseph said. "I think that’s what caused me to walk some people. I had a tendency to let my arm drive. My arm gets behind."
As a result, Joesph, who averaged nearly four walks per nine innings in his last four pro seasons, has not walked a batter in each of his seven one-inning appearances and could emerge as a reliable option out of the bullpen for the Royals once the season starts.

(2/27/13) Royals pitcher Donnie Joseph has impressed thus far in spring training as he's struck out all six batters he has faced in two Cactus League games, reports MLB.com. Traded to the Royals from Cincinnati for Jonathan Broxton, Royals manager Ned Yost is happy to have him. "He's got great stuff; at times command can get a little all over the place, but he has not exhibited that here in these games," Yost said. "But you never know when it's going to click. When [Greg] Holland got here, his first year, he was all over the place, and that was his deal. He had a great stuff, but he was all over the place. He went to winter ball, bam, he came back the next year and was a strike-throwing machine. What clicked? I don't know. Something clicked."
