| Red Sox add Alex Wilson to bullpen |

(4/10/13) The Red Sox recalled reliever Alex Wilson from Triple-A Pawtucket Wednesday after placing John Lackey (biceps) on the disabled list. Wilson is 1-0 with a 10.12 ERA in two relief appearances for Pawtucket.

(3/16/13) The Red Sox optioned pitcher Alex Wilson and catcher Daniel Butler to Triple-A Pawtucket on Saturday.
Wilson, who was a second-round draft pick in 2009, was moved to the bullpen last year at Triple-A. He is not considered a top prospect for the organization.
Butler has never seen time in the majors but could if something happens to a Boston backstop this season. He hit .247 between Double-A Portland and Triple-A Pawtucket last year.

| (4/24/12) The Providence Journal reports the Red Sox have moved prospect Alex Wilson from the rotation to the bullpen at Triple-A Pawtucket. "This is something we've talked about doing for a while and felt like now is the right time," farm director Ben Crockett said Tuesday. "We often like to stretch guys out in starter roles to help pitch development, and at this point we've seen enough development of Alex's mix to feel comfortable moving him to the pen. We think his stuff will play up in that role once he learns the routine and gets comfortable." Wilson went 1-0 with a 5.27 ERA in his three starts for the PawSox.
