|Brewers recall Sean Halton |
|by Jack Moore | CBSSports.com|
(8/16/13) The Brewers have recalled first baseman/outfielder Sean Halton from Triple-A Nashville. Halton hit .200/.217/.311 in 45 at-bats for Milwaukee earlier in the season and has a .288/.347/.494 line in 312 at-bats for Nashville.
|Sean Halton is one of those "prospects" who probably has no business starting for a major-league club. He'll at least a part-timer at first base, giving him value in NL-only leagues. Halton hit a respectable .290 over five minor-league seasons, but seeing as he slugged less than .500 in two partial seasons in the heavy-hitting Pacific Coast League, his power doesn't measure up at a deep position like first base. And given his horrendous 31-to-5 strikeout-to-walk ratio in his first go around the big leagues, a plus batting average might be unattainable as well. Anyone getting even semi-regular at-bats deserves consideration in NL-only leagues, but regardless of his role heading into 2014, Halton is no sort of long-term solution in Fantasy.
