|Joey Terdoslavich getting work at catcher |
|by R.J. White | CBSSports.com|
(2/24/14) Braves outfielder/first baseman Joey Terdoslavich has been getting some work at catcher this spring, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
Terdoslavich didn't do much in his Braves debut last season, hitting .215/.315/.266 in 79 at-bats, but he enjoyed a banner season at Triple-A Gwinnett, hitting .318/.359/.567 with 18 home runs and 58 RBI in 321 at-bats. He doesn't have any game experience at catcher in either the minor or major leagues.

(7/4/13) The Braves have recalled corner outfielder and first baseman Joey Terdoslavich from Triple-A Gwinnett, MLB.com reports. Terdoslavich, 24, owns a .318/.359/.567 line with 18 home runs in 85 games for Gwinnett. It's unclear what his role will be right now -- most likely, he'll give the Braves a power bat off the bench.

(5/12/13) Braves outfield prospect Joey Terdoslavich continues to tear up pitching in the International League. After hitting .318 in 27 games for Triple-A Gwinnett in April, Terdoslavich is batting .395 (15 for 38) with three home runs and eight RBI through 10 May games.
Terdoslavich's slash line through 37 games is .338/.353/.593/.946. He has one triple, seven home runs, 14 doubles, 18 runs and 24 RBI. It's been a nice rebound for Terdoslavich, who hit .180 in 53 games for Gwinnett last season before a demotion to Double-A Mississippi.
Terdoslavich entered the season as the Braves' 15th-best prospect, according to MLB.com.
|After tumbling down the prospect rankings following a tumultuous 2012 campaign, Braves outfielder Joey Terdoslavich restored his status in 2013 thanks to a resurgent season. Terdoslavich took down Triple-A pitching last season after the highest level in the minors got the best of him in 2012, which led to a demotion to Double-A. After hitting .180 in 53 games at Triple-A in '12, Terdoslavich hit .318 with a .567 slugging percentage, .926 OPS, 18 home runs, 24 doubles and 58 RBI in 85 games for Gwinnett last season. His resurgence led to Terdoslavich appearing in 55 games as a rookie for Atlanta in '13. Unfortunately, Terdoslavich played mostly off the bench and couldn't repeat his minor-league success. He hit just .215 with no home runs, four doubles and four RBI. Terdoslavich might grab a spot on the Braves' bench to begin 2014, but if the team believes he has a future as a regular in the majors, then the team might feel it would be more beneficial for him to play regularly in the minors until everyday at-bats emerge at the major-league level. Terdoslavich has more value in long-term Fantasy keeper formats.
