| Joey Terdoslavich much better in second Triple-A stint |
by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com (5/12/13) Braves outfield prospect Joey Terdoslavich continues to tear up pitching in the International League. After hitting .318 in 27 games for Triple-A Gwinnett in April, Terdoslavich is batting .395 (15 for 38) with three home runs and eight RBI through 10 May games.
Terdoslavich's slash line through 37 games is .338/.353/.593/.946. He has one triple, seven home runs, 14 doubles, 18 runs and 24 RBI. It's been a nice rebound for Terdoslavich, who hit .180 in 53 games for Gwinnett last season before a demotion to Double-A Mississippi.
Terdoslavich entered the season as the Braves' 15th-best prospect, according to MLB.com.

| Joey Terdoslavich assigned to minor-league camp |
by Chris Cwik | CBSSports.com (3/25/13) Joey Terdoslavich has been assigned to Braves’ minor-league camp. He will likely begin the season at Triple-A.
Terdoslavich made a push to make the opening day roster, hitting .395. Terdoslavich made the transition to corner outfield this spring, after he struggled defensively at third last season.

| Terdoslavich showing Braves potential |
by Jeff Lippman | CBSSports.com (3/4/13) Braves prospect Joey Terdoslavich has really been seeing the ball well during his last couple of spring training games. In fact, reports the Atlanta Journal Constitution, Terdoslavich has gone 8 for 9 in his last four spring contests. Terdoslavich, who is being looked at in the outfield this spring after flaming out as a corner infielder, is 11 for 17 (.647) on the spring season overall.

| Terdoslavich on the move again |
by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com (2/4/13) MLB.com reports the Braves are moving prospect Joey Terdoslavich to the outfield after a move from first base to third base in the minors didn't pan out. "We're going to to go ahead and let him play some outfield," Braves assistant general manager and director of player development Bruce Manno said. "It's one of those things where the more positions he can play, the better increase to his value. Being a switch-hitter, he's a great National League player with what he can do. Our goal for him right now is he'll be playing on the (Triple-A) Gwinnett club and he'll be playing somewhere, maybe some outfield, maybe first base."

| Joe Terdoslavich made a name for himself (and what a name it was) with a 20-homer season at Class A Lynchburg in 2011, but he dropped to only nine between Double- and Triple-A in 2012. Granted, he was transitioning to third base for part of that time (which might end up becoming his long-term home with Freddie Freeman manning first base at the major-league level), but even when he was playing mostly first, he still wasn't hitting the ball with the same authority as one year earlier. So now, his offensive potential is legitimately in question. At age 24, Terdolslavich should be more or less a finished product, but even with Chipper Jones retiring, the Braves don't seem inclined to give him a shot this spring. He's probably first in line if Freeman goes down or Martin Prado ends up being needed in left field, but again, is he a home run hitter or isn't he? To make up for his lack of plate discipline, he pretty much has to be. At this stage of his career, Terdoslavich is looking like a shaky long-term keeper, though he does have some sleeper appeal in deeper NL-only leagues. (Updated 1/4/13) |
