Twins sit Danny Santana, Oswaldo Arcia, Jordan Schafer

by Shawn Krest | CBSSports.com
(4/25/15) The Twins will be without three regulars in the starting lineup on Saturday.

Shortstop Danny Santana, left fielder Oswaldo Arcia and center fielder Jordan Schafer are all out of the lineup.

Eduardo Escobar will start his third game of the year at shortstop, batting eighth in the lineup.

Eduardo Nunez gets his second start of the year in left, batting sixth. Shane Robinson starts for the sixth time in center, batting ninth.

Twins shortstop Danny Santana still figuring things out at the plate

by Brandon Wise | CBSSports.com
(4/20/15) Twins shortstop Danny Santana hasn't provided the same pop at the plate in 2015 as he did a season ago. So far, Santana is hitting just .195 in 10 games this season after posting a .319 average in 2014 with 41 extra-base hits and 20 stolen bases in 101 games.

Manager Paul Molitor thinks Santana is just trying to do too much at the plate, according to MLB.com.

"Strikeouts are such a bigger part of the game and he's trying to fit the role of a good leadoff guy," Molitor said. "I'm not sure what that even is anymore. Obviously, you want the guy to get on base, score runs and be aggressive on the basepaths. But he knows doesn't walk a lot and is trying to improve that. And then he ends up pressing more. He tries to take pitches and then he's not doing well when he falls behind in the count. So it's kind of a catch-22 right now."

Danny Santana still Twins' leadoff man, despite day off on Sunday

by Shawn Krest | CBSSports.com
(4/19/15) Twins shortstop Danny Santana was out of the starting lineup on Sunday, but manager Paul Molitor gave him a vote of confidence.

"I still like Danny at the top for the most part," Molitor said, per TwinCities.com. "I don't think I'm going to be changing that too much in the short term when he's playing. We're going to play that out for a while. I like him leading off."

Twins' Vargas, Santana tweaking swings from both sides of plate

by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
(4/14/15) Twins switch hitters Kennys Vargas and Danny Santana are both working to calibrate their swings from both sides on a daily basis, according to the St. Paul Pioneer Press on Wednesday.

"I never feel 100 percent from both sides of the plate," said Vargas. "When my right side is good, my left is like 50 percent. It's never the same. I try to maintain both swings, but it's tough."

Vargas is hitting .400 (4 for 10) against left-handers and .091 (1 for 11) against right-handers this season. Santana is batting .250 (3 for 12) against right-handers and .167 (2 for 12) against southpaws.

"I never feel good from both sides," Santana said. "It's always better from one side than the other. Never the same."

Twins shortstop Danny Santana hitting .200 to start season

by Brandon Wise | CBSSports.com
(4/13/15) Twins shortstop Danny Santana is still finding his way at the plate to start the season, hitting just .200 on 20 at-bats. Santana has two RBI with six strikeouts through five games.

After starting the year 0 for 12 with five strikeouts, Santana turned it around a bit over the weekend, going 4 for 8 with a double against the White Sox.
