Rodriguez missing on too many pitches: Reds OF prospect Yorman Rodriguez is batting a disappointing .217 through his first 31 games with Class A Dayton. He has produced three doubles, three triples, three homers and 16 RBI. He also has 12 stolen bases. But he has struck out 34 times and has a .268 on-base percentage. (Updated 05/11/2011)

Fantasy Analysis
The Reds invested $2.5 million into Rodriguez to sign him as an international free agent a few years ago, so clearly they are willing to take their time to develop the Venezuelan outfielder. The scouts originally labeled Rodriguez as a five-tool center fielder, but now they feel as he grows into his 6-2 frame that he will be a prototypical right fielder. Only problem is that Jay Bruce plays right for Cincinnati and the team expects him to be there for a long time. But we don't have to worry about that now since Rodriguez is far off from his MLB debut. He still has a lot to work on, especially his plate discipline since the scouts don't like the fact he swings and misses a lot. They also hope his power develops with time, but as of now Rodriguez is merely a long-term Fantasy keeper. (Updated 05/11/2011).
