|by Shawn Krest | CBSSports.com|
|(5/24/15) Astros second baseman Jose Altuve is out of the starting lineup for the first time this season, after 44 starts.
Altuve snapped a string of 88 straight starts, dating back to last season. He's replaced by Marwin Gonzalez, who moves over from shortstop.
Jonathan Villar replaces Gonzalez at short.

|(5/15/15) Jose Altuve knocked a three-run homer Friday in the Astros' victory over the Blue Jays.
Jose Altuve's home run was his fifth of the season.
"He's certainly hunting for the opportunities to do damage," manager A.J. Hinch said to the Houston Chronicle. "There's a powerful swing in there. He's going to some big parts of the ballpark. That's big-man territory when he hits the ball on the barrel."
The second baseman hit seven homers all of last year during his batting-title winning season (.341).
Astros' Jose Altuve back to lead-off spot on Friday vs. Blue Jays
|by Jason Lempert | Staff Writer|
|(5/15/15) For the first time since May 8, Astros second baseman Jose Altuve is in the lead-off spot on Friday against the Blue Jays. Altuve has been hitting second over the last five games, while Jake Marisnick was atop of the batting order.
But Marisnick struggled as the lead-off batter for manager A.J. Hinch, going just 3 for 21 over that stretch. Marisnick is being dropped back down to ninth in the order with Altuve back in the lead-off spot.
Jose Altuve gets two hits, two steals in Astros' win

|(5/15/15) Astros second baseman Jose Altuve went 2 for 3 in Thursday's win over Toronto. Altuve doubled, his ninth of the year, and scored twice. He walked once and saw his average increase to .333.
Altuve also stole two bases, giving him 13 on the season.
Astros 2B Jose Altuve smacks fourth home run of the season
|by Brandon Wise | CBSSports.com|
|(5/9/15) Astros second baseman Jose Altuve went 1 for 3 at the plate in Houston's 6-5 win over the Angels on Saturday.
Altuve did his damage in the first inning when he crushed a solo home run over the left field wall off of Matt Shoemaker, his fourth of the season. Altuve is now hitting .349 with 21 RBI in 129 at-bats this season.
|2014 summary: Given that Jose Altuve was typically a mid-round pick last season, it's an understatement to say that owners got a great deal of value from the Astros' second baseman. Altuve upped his speed game in leading the American League with 56 stolen bases and 39 infield hits. The latter helped Altuve hit a major league-leading .341, which catapulted him to the top of the second base rankings in Fantasy value. It wasn't just speed that made Altuve so valuable, as he shrank his strikeout per at-bat ratio from 14 to eight percent and shattered his personal best for doubles with 47.|
Playing time status: Altuve has been durable and is a key part of the Astros' offense to boot, so expect him to play close to the full schedule.
2015 outlook: Though Altuve's batting average is due to dip somewhat, he could still eclipse .300 again and could approximate last season's stolen base, run and RBI pace. Even without double-digit home run power, Altuve is now firmly ensconced among the second base elite, and is worth drafting within the first two rounds.
