04/29/2012 17:39 Brewers avoid sweep, defeat Cardinals
Zack Greinke worked six strong innings and Jonathan Lucroy's two-run double capped a three-run sixth as the Milwaukee Brewers beat the St. Louis Cardinals 3-2 Sunday to avoid a three-game sweep.
Alex Gonzalez saw a drop off in his power last season as he played his first full season in Turner Field. After hitting 23 homers with 88 RBI between the Blue Jays and Braves in 2010, he was only able to muster 15 long balls and 56 RBI last season with a .372 slugging percentage. The 34-year-old should be in for a bounce-back campaign this season, though, as he signed with the Brewers and will now play in a friendlier hitter’s park. Also, Milwaukee's potent lineup should give him some better pitches to hit with runners on base. While Gonzalez's career .247 average is nothing to write home about, his potential for 20-plus homers makes him rare in Fantasy -- especially at a thin position. Target Gonzalez in deeper mixed leagues on Draft Day. (Updated 2/9/12)
