DeRosa agrees to Nats deal: The Nationals reached an agreement with free agent Mark DeRosa on Thursday, according to CBSSports.com Baseball Insider Jon Heyman. In his last two seasons with San Francisco, injuries limited DeRosa to 73 games. According to the Washington Post, the Nationals plan on using DeRosa mainly as a backup to 1B Adam LaRoche, filling in for Chris Marrero, who will miss extended time with a torn hamstring. Fantasy Analysis
As a backup, DeRosa won't have much value for Fantasy owners, even in NL-only leagues. It also remains to be seen how he will bounce back from last season's wrist surgery. Consider drafting him only in the deepest of leagues. (Updated 12/22/2011).
