Archie Bradley still a candidate to make MLB debut in 2014
by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com
(7/20/14) Diamondbacks starting pitcher Archie Bradley, who has missed most of the season due to an elbow injury, had one of his best starts of the season Saturday for Double-A Mobile. He struck out 10 batters in seven innings.

Despite the strong outing, Diamondbacks manager Kirk Gibson remained noncommittal about Bradley's chances of making his MLB debut this season, per MLB.com.

"It's possible," Gibson said. "He's got to continue to throw the ball better and better and see what kind of opportunities are made available. You never know.

"He really hasn't thrown that many starts, and he's working on some things down there and he has to be more consistent at it. … When he does that, if there's a need up there, I'm sure he'll get consideration."

Archie Bradley 'getting his feet back under him'
by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com
(7/16/14) Diamondbacks starting pitcher prospect Archie Bradley, who missed a good portion of the season due to an elbow injury, has gone 1-0 with a 1.47 ERA in four starts since joining the rotation at Double-A Mobile. However, he has more walks (13) than strikeouts (nine).

"He's getting his feet back under him," Diamondbacks director of player development Mike Bell said, per FOX Sports Arizona."The last outing, the breaking ball had some shape to it. He's starting to come along well."

Archie Bradley moving forward, but control remains unsteady
by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(7/7/14) Diamondbacks premier prospect Archie Bradley is emerging again with a strong run at Double-A Mobile.

Bradley yielded just one run on four hits in 5 1/3 innings Sunday with two walks and three strikeouts. He has given up two runs in 12 2/3 innings over his last three outings, but his nine walks with four strikeouts during that stretch is a concern.

Considering the struggles of the Diamondbacks, he could land with the big league club in September if he makes progress, earns a promotion to Triple-A Reno, and performs well there.

Archie Bradley close to rejoining minor-league affiliate
by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com
(6/17/14) Diamondbacks starting pitcher prospect Archie Bradley, who has been sidelined by an elbow injury, threw three innings during a rookie-league exhibition game Monday in Arizona, per The Arizona Republic. The right-handed hurler allowed one run in three innings, while striking out three and reaching 93 mph on the radar gun.

"I felt good," he said. "The biggest thing is my health and how I felt mechanically. Those two things came out well. As I got past that first inning, and in the second and third, I felt like I started to come into where I normally am."

Diamondbacks minor-league director Mike Bell seemed pleased with Bradley's performance.

"He's starting to look like a complete pitcher out there," Bell said.

Bradley is expected to throw once more in a rookie-league setting before returning to a minor-league affiliate.

"As much as I hate being on the DL, I'm going to use it to my advantage the best I can," Bradley said. "I'm leaving here with a much-improved changeup and a two-seam (fastball). Those are two things I didn't have before."

Archie Bradley 'still has a lot to do' before promotion
by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com
(5/18/14) Dave Duncan, who is a special assistant to the general manager and pitching consultant for the Diamondbacks, talked about the progress of starting pitcher prospect Archie Bradley during an interview Sunday with MLB Network Radio.

"He's a prospect. He still has a lot to do to be a legitimate guy considered for the major-league rotation," Duncan said. "He has decent control of his fastball. At times he is above average in velocity. At times he is average in velocity."
