(3/28/13) The Tigers announced Thursday they optioned reliever Luis Marte to Triple-A Toledo. Marte had a productive spring, posting a 2.19 ERA in 12 1/3 relief innings. He also struck out eight and recorded three saves.

(10/2/12) With Max Scherzer scratched with an ankle injury, reliever Luis Marte will make his first career start in Wednesday's season finale against the Royals. Marte has posted a 3.32 ERA over his 19 innings of work and has racked up 17 strikeouts over that stretch.
