Tyler Anderson 'a work in progress'
|by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com|
|(5/7/13) Rockies starting pitcher prospect Tyler Anderson tossed his second scoreless outing for Class A Modesto Monday, holding Bakersfield to two hits in six scoreless innings. Anderson struck out six.
The left-handed hurler, who is considered the Rockies' sixth-best prospect by MLB.com, is winless in seven starts (0-1), but he's struck out 36 batters in 39 2/3 innings. He's had trouble keeping the baseball in the park at times, allowing six home runs, and he's walked 10 batters.
"I wouldn't say I've been super successful so far," Anderson said, per MLB.com. "I've walked more guys [10 thus far] than I would've liked, and there have been balls that I left up in the zone. There's always time to make adjustments after every outing, and that's what I'm doing. It's still a work in progress."
