|by Sean d'Oliveira | CBSSports.com|

Loney has been dealing with an oblique injury, while a shouler injury has kept Smyly sidelined. He is set to make his season debut Friday against the Blue Jays.
"He's worked really hard to get back here, he's chomping at the bit, and we have to be smart with him," Rays manager Kevin Cash said, per MLB Network Radio. "We'll be cautious."
Meanwhile, with Smyly and Loney no longer on the disabled list, the team sent Mike Mahtook and Allan Dykstra to their Triple-A affiliate.

Rays DL pitcher Riefenhauser, promote OF Mahtook

|(4/23/15) The Rays have placed left-handed reliever C.J. Riefenhauser on the disabled list with shoulder inflammation and promoted outfielder Mikie Mahtook from Triple-A Durham, the Tampa Tribune reports.
"I kind of had a little bit of soreness yesterday," Riefenhauser said, per MLB.com. "So they wanted to be cautious. They didn't want me to fall behind, then it might take longer than, what is the DL, 15 days? I don't see it going any farther than that. So, just see how it goes."
The moves complete a whirlwind week for both players. Riefenhauser was recalled from Durham and Mahtook demoted to the same team Friday.
Rays' Mikie Mahtook hits first career home run in loss
|by Brandon Wise | CBSSports.com|
|(4/15/15) Rays center fielder Mikie Mahtook went 1 for 2 at the plate in Tampa Bay's 12-7 loss to the Blue Jays Wednesday.
Mahtook cranked a 1-2 pitch from Mark Buehrle over the left field wall for a two-run home run in the sixth inning, scoring Logan Forsythe. It was Mahtook's first career hit and home run.
"I was just kind of up there and tried to act as calm as possible," Mahtook said after the game, per MLB.com. "Any time you come in during the middle of the game, you have to get your bearings a little bit. But I got up there and just told myself I needed to be aggressive and stay within myself."
Mahtook is now hitting .250 in four at-bats this season.
