|Steve Delabar sent down again Friday |
|by Chris Cwik | CBSSports.com|
(6/20/14) Blue Jays pitcher Steve Delabar has been optioned to Triple-A Friday.
Delabar has been up multiple times this week. He had a tough outing against the Yankees Thursday, allowing one earned run in 2/3 of an inning. He allowed four baserunners. Delabar has a 4.91 ERA over 25 2/3 innings in the majors this year.

(6/19/14) Right-handed reliever Steve Delabar wasn't at Triple-A Buffalo long. The Blue Jays promoted him Thursday after having demoted him Tuesday. The move was necessitated by the placing of Brett Cecil on the disabled list.
Delabar will have to perform better this time around to earn his keep. He had given up six runs in his last 5 1/3 innings pitched for the Blue Jays.

(6/17/14) The Blue Jays called up infielder Munenori Kawasaki and optioned pitcher Steve Delabar to Triple-A Buffalo. Delabar was 3-0 with a 4.68 ERA in 25 innings. In an earlier major-league stint this season, Kawaski went 3 for 12 with one RBI.

(4/22/14) Blue Jays pitcher Steve Delabar picked up his second win of the season by pitching a scoreless eighth inning in his team's 9-3 victory over the Orioles Tuesday.
Delabar (2-0) kept the game tied 3-3 heading into the bottom of the eighth, when the Blue Jays smacked a pair of three-run home runs to grab a win. He has posted a 4.91 ERA and 5:6 K:BB ratio in 7 1/3 innings.

|by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com|
(4/18/14) Blue Jays pitcher Steve Delabar didn't last an entire inning on Friday, but it was enough for him to be awarded the win against the Indians in Cleveland.
Delabar faced three batters, as he walked one and struck out one over two-thirds of an inning. He owns a 5.68 ERA, a 1.26 WHIP and 5:5 K:BB ratio over 6 1/3 innings pitched.
|On any other team, Steve Delabar would be a slam-dunk late-round draft pick for save speculation. But the Blue Jays are flush with late-inning options, and Delabar may be third or fourth in line for saves. While his final numbers weren't spectacular (3.22 ERA, 1.35 WHIP), Delabar was cruising through most of the 2013 season, earning an All-Star berth and sporting a 2.40 ERA through the end of July. Then he strained his right shoulder, missed most of August, and finished the season with a 5.00 ERA over his last nine games. While he won't be at the top of the list for saves, Delabar has value as a high-strikeout, low-ratio reliever, with value in AL-only Roto leagues.
