Hernandez allowed three earned runs on nine hits and a walk in 4 1/3 innings Sunday against the Red Sox. He is 2-1 with a 5.85 ERA through eight outings (six starts).

| Pedro Hernandez suffers first loss |
by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com (5/19/13) Twins pitcher Pedro Hernandez suffered his first loss of the season in Sunday's 5-1 defeat to the Red Sox.
Hernandez (2-1), who made his sixth start of the season, surrendered a solo home run to Will Middlebrooks in the second. He was charged with three runs and nine hits over 4 1/3 innings of work. He struck out two and walked one as he saw his ERA rise from 5.79 to 5.85.
Hernandez is scheduled to make his next start Friday at Detroit. He has a whopping 10.22 ERA in three starts away from Target Field.

| Pedro Hernandez gets back on track in May |
by Ed Gauna | CBSSports.com (5/13/13) Twins pitcher Pedro Hernandez posted a 13.50 ERA over his first two starts in May but was much improved on Monday night against the White Sox. He allowed three runs on six hits over 5 1/3 innings in a 10-3 win.
The left-hander was tagged with a two-spot in the first before making it through his next four frames unscathed. Then in the sixth, he put the first two men on before Alex Rios drove in a run with a groundout.
Hernandez, who threw 84 pitches, also struck out four with no walks while earning his second win.
His next start is scheduled for Sunday against the Red Sox. When Hernandez faced Boston on May 8, he allowed six runs over just two innings of work.

| Pedro Hernandez remains in rotation |
by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com (5/9/13) Twins starting pitcher Pedro Hernandez has stumbled in his last few starts, but the team is not yet ready to pull him out of the rotation.
Hernandez allowed six runs on seven hits in two innings Wednesday to balloon his ERA to 5.96, raising questions about the security of his spot in the rotation. But according to MLB.com, neither general manager Terry Ryan nor manager Ron Gardenhire plan to make a change in the near future.
"Absolutely, I do," Gardenhire said, when asked if he expects Hernandez to be on the mound for his next scheduled start. "Until somebody tells me differently."
Hernandez is set to take on the White Sox Monday.

| Pedro Hernandez leaves wild one early |
by Jeff Lippman | CBSSports.com (5/8/13) Twins starter Pedro Hernandez left Wednesday's start in Boston with an 11-6 lead and Minnesota only widened the gap from there. Unfortunately, Hernandez left after just two innings pitched.
Hernandez had to settle for a no-decision considering he couldn't go deep enough in the game to be eligible for a win. He needed 51 pitches to get just six outs and surrendered six runs on seven hits and a walk. He gave up a grand slam to Jonny Gomes as Boston scored five times off him in the first inning alone. Hernandez gave up two homers in total and his ERA jumped to 5.96.
The 24-year-old, who struck out two Wednesday, is 1-0 on the season but has given up 11 earned runs over his last two outings spanning just 7 1/3 innings. He's walked five over that span with three homers allowed.
Hernandez will look to turn things around when he next takes the hill Monday against the White Sox.
