| Yan Gomes' two-homer game powers Indians to win |
by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com (5/20/13) Indians catcher Yan Gomes homered twice, which included a three-run, walk-off home run in the 10th inning of Monday's 10-8 win against the Mariners. Gomes also clubbed a solo home run in the second inning and finished 3 for 5.
Gomes, who has four home runs, extended his hitting streak to five games. He's batting .450 (9 for 20) with two home runs, two doubles and five RBI in that span.

| Cleveland pleased with Yan Gomes |
by Jeff Lippman | CBSSports.com (5/8/13) The Indians have been extremely happy with the production and ability of catcher Yan Gomes to this point, MLB.com reports Wednesday. The 25-year-old has impressed manager Terry Francona.
"This spring we were really pleased, because we didn't quite know [what to expect]," Francona said. "We wanted to see him catch, because we thought we had a chance for an everyday catcher. You never pass up that opportunity. That's why we sent him to Triple-A [to start the season]. He's getting better fast. It's very exciting."
Entering Wednesday, Gomes had logged 84 innings behind the dish and Cleveland pitchers have posted a combined 2.89 ERA over that span. They are 10-2 when Gomes appears.
Gomes is batting .212 on the year with two homers and four RBI over 33 at-bats.

by Ed Gauna | CBSSports.com (4/21/13) Yan Gomes received the start behind the plate for the Indians in Sunday's series finale against the Astros and had a productive day at the plate. He went 2 for 4 with a home run in the 5-4 win.
Gomes launched a solo shot off starter Erik Bedard in his first at-bat before leading off the fourth inning with a triple.
The 25-year-old is batting .211 with two homers and three RBI through 19 at-bats.
