(3/23/13) The Padres have re-assigned infielders Jonathan Galvez and Jeudy Valdez and left-handed pitcher Arturo Lopez to minor-league camp Saturday, according to MLB.com.

(3/31/12) The San Diego Padres continued to trim their roster and sent shortstop Jonathan Galvez to their minor-league camp on Friday. Galvez hit .371 in 35 at-bats during Cactus League play with one home run. He suffered a sprained right ankle during Thursday's game against the White Sox. "I like the way he plays; he plays hard and with a lot of energy," Padres manager Bud Black told MLB.com. "He swung the bat well."
