| Oblique injury bothering Kyle Crick |

(4/29/13) Giants pitching prospect Kyle Crick was placed on the minor-league disabled list with an oblique injury and could miss more than the minimum seven days. Crick, pitching for Class A San Jose, was skipped in the rotation last week and his return to the mound is unclear.
In his first three starts this season, the right-hander has posted a sparking 0.93 ERA over 9 2/3 innings with 12 strikeouts, but has also walked nine batters. At just 20 years old, Crick is regarded as San Francisco's top overall prospect by MLB.com.

(2/11/13) MLB.com has ranked pitcher Kyle Crick as the Giants' top prospect heading into 2013. "He's mentally mature, he understands pitching. It's really refreshing when you're talking to him and you're around him," Giants director of player development Fred Stanley said. "He's understanding how to pitch and sometimes that takes kids three or four years to figure it out. This kid's already doing it. Crick is a lot like (Matt) Cain, meaning the arsenal he's got at his age."
