|by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com|

Report: Teams asking Rangers about Jurickson Profar, Rougned Odor
|by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com|
|(12/8/14) The Rangers are receiving a lot of interest in their middle infielders, including Jurickson Profar, according to MLB.com. Many clubs are showing heavy interest in Rougned Odor, but the Rangers aren't shopping him.
The 21-year-old Profar missed the 2014 season due to a shoulder injury. However, he was considered the top propsect in baseball in 2013 by multiple outlets.
Odor didn't quite make it as high in the prospect rankings as Profar, but the 20-year-old infielder was considered a top-100 prospect in 2014 by Baseball America (No. 42) and MLB.com (No. 59). Odor hit .259 with seven triples, nine home runs, 14 doubles and 48 RBI in 114 games as a rookie last season.
Rougned Odor homers, steals base in win vs. Astros

|(9/24/14) Rangers second baseman Rougned Odor went 2 for 3 with a walk, a double, a solo home run and a stolen base in his team's 5-1 win over the Astros Wednesday.
Odor has fared well in September, going 21 for 66 with two home runs and two stolen bases. Wednesday's great performance was his seventh multihit game of the month. Odor has hit .261/.301/.407 with nine home runs, 47 RBI and four stolen bases in 371 at-bats.
Rougned Odor pops grand slam Wednesday
|by Chris Cwik | CBSSports.com|
|(8/27/14) Rangers infielder Rougned Odor popped a grand slam Wednesday against the Mariners.
Odor stepped to the plate with the bases loaded in the top of the third. He clobbered the first pitch of the at-bat, an 87 mph fastball, out to right center for the grand slam. He finished 1 for 4, with one run scored and four RBI.
|2014 summary: At age 21 and with only 263 career at-bats above Class A, Rougned Odor found himself on his way to the majors in 2014 after Jurickson Profar's shoulder injury proved to be more than just a short-term thing, and for the first 3 1/2 months, he performed about as you'd expect for someone so young and so rushed. But over his final 103 at-bats -- a span of 29 games -- he began to show the potential that made him Baseball America's No. 42 prospect coming into the year, batting .291 with four home runs, two stolen bases and an .832 OPS.|
Playing time status: Even with the strong finish, Odor's playing time in 2015 is uncertain with Profar still lurking. After all, he was Baseball America's No. 1 prospect in 2013, so provided he has recovered from his yearlong shoulder issues, the Rangers will want to play him somewhere. And right now, shortstop, his natural position, is occupied by Elvis Andrus. Maybe a trade will clear things up, but until then, you have to anticipate a timeshare of some sort.
2015 outlook: Odor has the potential to be a five-category contributor at a middle-infield position -- a rare bird indeed -- and now that Fantasy owners have caught a glimpse of that potential, he figures to be a popular sleeper on Draft Day. Of course, he could also prove to be a frustrating one with Profar and Andrus still in the picture. You may not want to take him as your top second baseman, but as a backup or middle infielder, you have to like the upside in the late rounds.
