(8/29/14) Tigers pitcher Luke Putkonen was knocked around in his first rehab appearance.
Putkonen gave up four runs in just 2/3 of an inning. He allowed two hits, including a home run, and walked two batters. Putkonen is attempting to come back after June elbow surgery.

(8/28/14) Tigers pitcher Luke Putkonen is expected to take his recovery from elbow surgery out on rehab assignment Thursday, the team announced. Putkonene will begin his assignment for Class A West Michigan, though it is not clear how long he is expected to stay on assignment at this point.

(8/8/14) Tigers pitcher Luke Putkonen threw a 25-pitch bullpen session Friday and experienced no pain, MLive.com reports.
It was Putkonen's first bullpen session since undergoing elbow surgery in mid-June. He could go out on a rehab assignment as some point in August before the end of the minor-league season if he doesn't encounter any setbacks.
"With only a month left in the minor-league season, even if he can get ready, there's really no place for him to do a rehab assignment, so I don't know what will happen," manager Brad Ausmus said. "I don't know if he will be ready."

(6/22/14) The Tigers transferred reliever Luke Putkonen from the 15-day DL to the 60-day DL. He underwent arthroscopic elbow surgery earlier this month.

(6/13/14) Tigers right-hander Luke Putkonen underwent successful arthroscopic surgery Thursday to repair what is basically inflammation in his elbow joint, the team has announced.
Putkonen has been sidelined since mid-April after pitching in just two games this season and giving up eight runs in 2 2/3 innings.
He is expected to be out 6-8 weeks.
