(5/2/13) Yankees general manager Brian Cashman said the team is mulling its roster options after placing reliever Joba Chamberlain (oblique) on the disabled list Thursday. Cashman said Chien-Ming Wang is not in the mix to take Chamberlain's roster spot, but Mark Montgomery, Preston Claiborne and Sam Demel are candidates in the short term.

(3/20/13) The Yankees announced Wednesday that pitchers Mark Montgomery and Matt Tracy have been re-assigned to minor-league camp.
Montgomery made seven appearances for the Yankees this spring, allowing two earned runs in 5 2/3 innings but walked six batters and allowed six hits. Tracy surrendered four earned runs in his three innings of work over three appearances.

(2/5/13) MLB.com reports Yankees general manager Brian Cashman said reliever Mark Montgomery has a real chance to emerge at the major-league level this year, sporting a slider that could help him land a David Robertson-type role.
