Giants' Bochy won't move starters up after Peavy sent to DL
|by R.J. White | CBSSports.com|
|(4/19/15) Giants manager Bruce Bochy said Sunday that he will insert either Ryan Vogelsong or Yusmeiro Petit into the rotation against the Dodgers Thursday rather than alter his other starters' schedules after Jake Peavy was placed on the disabled list, the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
The Giants have an off-day Monday, and the team's regular rotation will receive extra rest rather than bump up in order to cover for Peavy's absence. That will leave Chris Heston and Tim Hudson to face the Rockies in Colorado Friday and Saturday, respectively.

|by Brandon Wise | CBSSports.com|
|(4/18/15) Giants pitcher Chris Heston allowed one run on five hits in 7 2/3 innings Saturday in San Francisco's 4-1 win over the Diamondbacks.
Heston made just one mistake in the outing, allowing a leadoff home run to David Peralta in the fourth inning. He settled down and sent the remaining hitters down in order. Heston allowed just one hit over his last three innings of work.
"He's a four-pitch guy with command," Giants manager Bruce Bochy, referring to Heston's fastball, sinker, curveball and changeup, said after the game, per MLB.com. "That really works."
Heston, now 2-1, boasts a blistering 0.87 ERA in three starts and will look to keep rolling Friday against the Rockies.
Giants P Chris Heston picks up loss Monday
|by Sean d'Oliveira | CBSSports.com|
|(4/13/15) Despite producing a solid seven innings of work during Monday's game, Giants pitcher Chris Heston received the loss against the Rockies.
"He looked like he was throwing Wiffle balls up there," Giants third baseman Matt Duffy said, per MLB.com. "Everything was moving."
Heston allowed seven hits over the seven innings while striking out five and walking two. He allowed two runs with only one of the runs earned. He is now 1-1 on the season.
Heston said having Buster Posey behind the plate has given him confidence to trust his pitches.
"Having Buster back there, you trust what [signs] he puts down, and I know if I can make my pitch, it'll turn out for the best," he said.
His next start will likely be Saturday against the Diamondbacks.
