| Blake Snell pitching well despite lack of wins |

(5/9/13) Rays starting pitcher prospect Blake Snell recorded a career-best 10 strikeouts and retired the final 16 batters he faced Wednesday, but he still took the loss for Class A Bowling Green. Snell has lost two of his last three starts despite allowing a total of four earned runs in that span.
Snell is 1-3 with a 2.81 ERA and .237 opponents' batting average through six starts. He's managed 34 strikeouts to 16 walks in 25 2/3 innings. The 2011 supplemental first-round pick is considered the Rays' seventh-best prospect by MLB.com.

(8/19/12) Rays starting pitcher prospect Blake Snell is having a productive campaign for rookie league Princeton in 2012. The 2011 supplemental first-round pick (52nd overall) is 5-1 with a 2.09 ERA and .202 opponents' batting average in 11 starts. He also has thrown one complete game shutout, struck out 53 batters and walked 17 in 47 1/3 innings.
