| Kyle McPherson still having elbow problems |

(4/28/13) Pirates minor league pitcher Kyle McPherson continues to experience discomfort in his right elbow, so general manager Neal Huntington said Sunday he will be shut down for an extended period of time, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. McPherson was pitching for Triple-A Indianapolis before being shut down in mid-April.

(4/15/13) Pirates minor-league pitcher Kyle McPherson received an injection in his ailing right elbow Monday and will be shut down from all baseball activities for the next two weeks, the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports. McPherson has been tagged for 10 runs in just 4 2/3 innings during his first two starts for Triple-A Indianapolis this season.

(4/14/13) The Pirates will examine pitching prospect Kyle McPherson's elbow this week, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
McPherson was placed on the minor league disabled list Saturday with a forearm issue. The examination will determine his recovery time, and if he is able to return quickly, he could be in the running for the starting rotation spot currently vacated by the injured Wandy Rodriguez.

(4/13/13) Pirates pitcher Kyle McPherson was placed on the minor-league disabled list Saturday with forearm tightness, the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports. McPherson was in the running for a spot start Sunday in place of Wandy Rodriguez before the team opted to use Phil Irwin.
