Yankees trade two prospects to Mariners for OF Dustin Ackley

(7/30/15) The Mariners have finally given up on left fielder Dustin Ackley, whom they have traded to the Yankees for outfield prospect Ramon Flores for right-handed reliever Jose Ramirez, per CBSSports Baseball Insider Jon Heyman

Ackley has been a disappointment since his arrival in the big leagues, but his left-handed power bat could produce considering the short right-field porch at Yankee Stadium. He owns a poor .215/.270/.306 slash line this season and has just two hits in his last 15 at-bats.

Ramirez, who has pitched in 11 games for the Yankees over the past two seaons, boasts a 2.90 ERA with 56 strikeouts in 49 innings this year at Triple-A Scranton-Wilkes Barre.

Flores has compiled a .286/.377/.417 slash line for the same team in 2015.

Yankees demote RP Nick Rumbelow, OF Ramon Flores

(7/8/15) The return of Jacoby Ellsbury and Andrew Miller from injuries have motivated the Yankees to option right-handed reliever Nick Rumbelow and outfielder Ramon Flores to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes Barre.

Rumbelow performed well in his brief stint in the bigs, allowing one run on one hit in 3 1/3 innings. Flores batted .212 in 12 games.

Flores, who was recalled from Triple-A on Friday, will hit from the sixth spot in the lineup.

Flores is hitting .241 in 29 at-bats with the Yankees this season.

New York also recalled Gregorio Petit from Triple-A and cleared a roster spot by demoting outfielder Taylor Dugas to Triple-A.

Stephen Drew to paternity list among Yankees moves Tuesday

(6/23/15) The Yankees announced Tuesday second baseman Stephen Drew was placed on the paternity list. The team also optioned outfielder Ramon Flores to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
