Rondon optioned to Triple-A

(3/11/13) Yankees catcher Austin Romine was the first significant cut of the spring for New York on Monday, reports the Journal News. Romine was optioned to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre along with LHP Francisco Rondon and RHPs Dellin Betances and Brett Marshall. The team also optioned LHPs Manny Banuelos and Nik Turley, RHP Jose Ramirez and OF Ramon Flores to Double-A Trenton. New York also reassigned pitcher Chase Whitley, catcher J.R. Murphy and first baseman Luke Murton to minor league camp.
