Dodgers' Hyun-Jin Ryu reports no back issues after catch

|(2/27/15) Dodgers pitcher Hyun-Jin Ryu said he made about 35 throws from 60 feet in a game of light catch Friday and reported no ill effects, MLB.com reports.
Ryu, whose back stiffened up after a bullpen session Tuesday, reiterated that he should be back on a normal throwing schedule soon and was "not worried at all" about being ready for the start of the season. He went 14-7 with a 3.38 ERA and 139:29 K:BB ratio in 152 innings last season, his second with the Dodgers.
Dodgers SP Hyun-Jin Ryu (back) undergoes MRI, results negative

|(2/26/15) Dodgers manager Don Mattingly said starting pitcher Hyun-Jin Ryu was held out of workouts again Thursday due to a back injury. However, Mattingly had some good news as Ryu underwent an MRI and the results were negative.
Ryu told reporters that he expects to return within a few days, and doesn't see his back issue affecting his spring schedule too much, according to SB Nation.
Dodgers' Hyun-Jin Ryu skips workout with mid-back tightness
|by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com|
|(2/25/15) Dodgers pitcher Hyun-Jin Ryu was unable to take the field for Los Angeles' workout on Wednesday after experiencing mid-back tightness after a bullpen session on Tuesday, according to the Orange County Register.
Ryu was reportedly not pleased with his session on Tuesday, saying he threw too many fastballs out of the zone. The 27-year-old from South Korea experienced some shoulder fatigue last season, and as a result, posted a 3.38 ERA over 152 innings. He's targeting to reach the 200-inning threshold in 2015.
|2014 summary: Due to a quirk of scheduling, Hyun-Jin Ryu started three of the Dodgers' first six games, but shoulder and gluteal injuries ultimately limited him to 26 starts. Though his ERA didn't reflect improvement, rising from 3.00 to 3.38, Ryu progressed in his second season, as he bettered his strikeout and walk rates. Ryu didn't have many early exits, but he also didn't often pitch deep into games. He exceeded six innings 11 times and pitched more than seven innings just once, so Ryu gave his Fantasy owners a mere 152 innings.|
Playing time status: Ryu is a lock for the Dodgers' rotation, but even if he remains healthy all season, he is no sure thing to amass 200 innings.
2015 outlook: Ryu was probably fortunate to have allowed only eight home runs all season, so his ERA may not improve, but he should continue to be a steady standard mixed league presence who deserves to start the vast majority of weeks. He remains a solid middle-round target.
