Phillies SP Adam Morgan allows seven hits in Sunday's loss

by Sean d'Oliveira | CBSSports.com
(8/2/15) Phillies pitcher Adam Morgan only made one real mistake during Sunday's start against the Braves, but it cost him during the 6-2 loss.

Morgan allowed four runs on seven hits over five innings of work. The lone mistake was giving up a three-run home run to Jace Peterson in the fifth inning. He struck out one and walked three during the outing. Morgan is now 2-3 with a 4.46 ERA.

During his seven starts this season, Morgan has earned a quality start in three of those outings.

Phillies SP Adam Morgan collapses in fifth and takes defeat

by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(7/22/15) Phillies rookie southpaw Adam Morgan was playing with fire early in his start Wednesday against Tampa Bay. He eventually got burned.

A quick shower cooled him off. Morgan was banished in the fifth inning after allowing four runs on nine hits with no walks and three strikeouts.

Morgan escaped a bases-loaded jam in the second and stranded two in both the third and fourth. But a hit-by-pitch and doubles by Evan Longoria and Logan Forsythe ended his night after he had thrown 80 pitches.

It marked his second dud in his last three outings and raised his ERA to 4.28. He has allowed 10 runs in his last 14 2/3 innings pitched.

Phillies SP Adam Morgan delivers solid outing vs. Marlins on Friday

by Jason Lempert | Staff Writer
(7/17/15) Phillies rookie left-hander Adam Morgan was solid in his start against the Marlins on Friday. Morgan allowed two runs on four hits over 6 1/3 innings of the 6-3 victory. He walked three and struck out three, but did not factor in the final decision.

Morgan lowered his ERA to 3.91 with the strong outing. He even helped his own cause, as he doubled and scored in the bottom of the sixth inning. That double was his first hit of his young career, which now consists of four big-league starts.

This was a good bounceback effort for the 25-year-old pitcher. He allowed five runs in four innings in his previous start back on July 8.
