by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(8/19/15) Phillies rookie pitcher Adam Morgan has perfrormed consistently well since arriving in the big leagues, but most impressive is that arguably his two finest starts have been against the most prolific offense in the game.

Morgan shut down the high-scoring Blue Jays again Wednesday night. He limited them two just two runs on five hits in seven innings with no walks and three strikeouts to even his record to 4-4.

The left-hander had a shutout going into the fifth inning, when an Edwin Encarnacion sole home run and RBI double by Cliff Pennington put Toronto on the board. He had faced the minimum number of batters through the first four.

Morgan has given up 16 runs in his last 40 2/3 innings to lower his ERA to 3.92. He has yielded just four runs in 13 innings for two defeats of the Blue Jays.
