| Dodgers enthusiastic about Corey Seager |
by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com (4/18/13) Dodgers shortstop prospect Corey Seager is off to a slow start for Class A Great Lakes, batting .167 (6 for 36) through 10 games, but that doesn't damper the team's enthusiasm about the 2012 first-round pick.
"His passion for the game is truly unbelievable, and his knowledge and understanding of what he's seeing, what the opponents are trying to do to him, the pitching, is also unbelievable," Dodgers vice president of player development De Jon Watson told MLB.com. "It's very refreshing to see."
Seager, who is considered the Dodgers' fourth-best prospect by MLB.com, hit .309 with a .520 slugging percentage in 46 games in rookie ball last season. Seager continues to work at shortstop, though some scouts believe he will eventually develop into a third baseman like his older brother Kyle Seager, who plays for the Mariners.
"We think it's a very big piece for us," Watson said. "He had some help, obviously from his brother playing at the major-league level. I'm sure they communicate often. We also love the kid's make-up and his work ethic. He has an unbelievable passion for the game."

| Seager to remain at SS for now |
by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com (2/11/13) MLB.com reports although many believe Dodgers prospect Corey Seager will eventually move to third base because of his size (6-4, 205 pounds), there are no plans to move him from shortstop this season. Even if Seager eventually changed positions, Dodgers minor league director De Jon Watson said Seager has the athleticism to manage a position shift. Watson added Seager had one of the most advanced plate approaches of anyone coming of of high school in last year's MLB draft.
