Corey Seager moving up to Double-A
by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com
(7/13/14) Dodgers shortstop prospect Corey Seager has been promoted to Double-A Chattanooga, according to the Los Angeles Times

Seager, who is considered a top 100 prospect by MLB.com (No. 34) and Baseball America (No. 37), hit .352 with a .411 on-base percentage, .633 slugging percentage and 1.044 OPS in 80 games for Class A Rancho Cucamonga. He had two triples, 18 home runs, 34 doubles, 61 runs, 70 RBI, five stolen bases, 30 walks and 76 strikeouts.

Corey Seager on fire
by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(5/12/14) Dodgers top prospect Corey Seager is batting .429 (15 for 35) with five doubles at Class A Advanced Rancho Cucamonga since returning from a hamstring injury May 3.

"It's never fun sitting on the bench," the infielder told MLB.com. "It's nice to be back and nice to be in the lineup. I feel comfortable after [being on] the disabled list. ... It's just getting good pitches and not missing them. I'm not missing them right now. Hopefully, I can keep going with that."

Seager was the No. 18 overall pick in the 2012 draft.

Corey Seager hits minor-league DL with hamstring injury
by R.J. White | CBSSports.com
(4/28/14) Dodgers infield prospect Corey Seager has been placed on the seven-day minor-league disabled list, retroactive to April 24, due to a hamstring injury.

Seager has performed well in the offense-boosting California League this season, hitting .294/.337/.482 with two home runs, 13 RBI and four stolen bases in 85 at-bats with high Class A Rancho Cucamonga. He still has plenty of work to do at that level, having struck out 24 times while walking just five times this season.

Corey Seager promoted to high Class A
by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com
(8/4/13) Dodgers shortstop prospect Corey Seager was promoted from low Class A Great Lakes to high Class A Rancho Cucamonga Saturday. Seager went 0 for 2 with one strikeout in his debut for Rancho Cucamonga.

The 2012 first-round pick and younger brother of Mariners third baseman Kyle Seager hit .309 with a .529 slugging percentage and .918 OPS in 74 games for Great Lakes. He also had three triples, 12 home runs, 18 doubles, 45 runs, 57 RBI and nine stolen bases.

Dodgers enthusiastic about Corey Seager
by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com
(4/18/13) Dodgers shortstop prospect Corey Seager is off to a slow start for Class A Great Lakes, batting .167 (6 for 36) through 10 games, but that doesn't damper the team's enthusiasm about the 2012 first-round pick.

"His passion for the game is truly unbelievable, and his knowledge and understanding of what he's seeing, what the opponents are trying to do to him, the pitching, is also unbelievable," Dodgers vice president of player development De Jon Watson told MLB.com. "It's very refreshing to see."

Seager, who is considered the Dodgers' fourth-best prospect by MLB.com, hit .309 with a .520 slugging percentage in 46 games in rookie ball last season. Seager continues to work at shortstop, though some scouts believe he will eventually develop into a third baseman like his older brother Kyle Seager, who plays for the Mariners.

"We think it's a very big piece for us," Watson said. "He had some help, obviously from his brother playing at the major-league level. I'm sure they communicate often. We also love the kid's make-up and his work ethic. He has an unbelievable passion for the game."
