Eduardo Rodriguez earns win for Red Sox

by Shawn Krest | CBSSports.com
(6/30/15) Red Sox starter Eduardo Rodriguez earned his second win in the last three starts in Tuesday's win over Toronto.

Rodriguez allowed one run over six innings to move to 4-2 on the year. He gave up four hits, walked two and struck out four.

"He made some quality pitches with men on base tonight," Red Sox manager John Farrell said, per MLB.com. "He had very good stuff. The second time through the order, down the bottom of the order, is when he started to use his third pitch a little bit more."

Rodriguez has pitched into the seventh inning just once in his last five starts.

Willis: 'Borderline obvious' Eduardo Rodriguez was tipping pitches

by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com
(6/29/15) Red Sox pitching coach Carl Willis indicated Monday starting pitcher Eduardo Rodriguez was tipping his pitches while throwing out of the stretch during his last start Thursday against the Orioles.

"It was borderline obvious," Willis said, per The Providence Journal. "He'd been so good out of the windup. Going back and looking at the pitches he executed from the stretch, they were still quality pitches. It's safe to say that there's a good likelihood that could have had something to do with it."

Rodriguez was perfect through three innings Thursday before his outing fell apart in the fourth inning. He was pulled after allowing six runs in 3 2/3 innings.

"All pitchers, when they come here, they're establishing history," Willis said. "There's video. Guys are facing them. He's faced Baltimore twice now. This will be the second time he's faced Toronto. There's nothing like hitters seeing it -- and seeing where they can pick up the ball.

"More than anything, it's a matter of pitchers being consistent within their deliveries. More so than not, starters have a consistent delivery where everything looks the same. That's what you gear yourself towards."

Red Sox's Eduardo Rodriguez loses for 2nd time in three starts

by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com
(6/25/15) Red Sox rookie starting pitcher Eduardo Rodriguez was roughed up for the second time in three starts during Thursday's 8-6 loss to the Orioles. The left-hander allowed six runs on seven hits and no walks, while striking out five in 3 2/3 innings.

Rodriguez (3-2) got off to a really great start Thursday. He had two strikeouts in the first inning and five strikeouts through three perfect innings. Unfortunately, it all fell apart for Rodriguez in the fourth inning.

He retired Manny Machado to begin the inning before he allowed a double to Chris Parmalee and an RBI single to Nolan Reimold. Matt Wieters then parked a two-run homer. Delmon Young and Chris Davis reached via singles before J.J. Hardy brought both players home with a double. Steve Pearce singled before Ryan Flaherty gave the Orioles a 6-1 lead with a sac fly.

"He's cruising along -- he retires the first 10 of the game," Red Sox manager John Farrell said, per MLB.com. "He was dominant. He had a number of swing-and-miss [pitches], and then he gets in the stretch, they make a little bit of an adjustment. He wasn't commanding the baseball when he got to the stretch.

Alexi Ogando then replaced Rodriguez with two outs in the fourth, and escaped the jam by getting Machado to fly out to center field.

Rodriguez has allowed at least six runs in two of his last three starts. He lost both of those games.

Eduardo Rodriguez gets his first win in two weeks for Red Sox

by Shawn Krest | CBSSports.com
(6/19/15) Red Sox starter Eduardo Rodriguez moved to 3-1 after winning his first game since June 3, Friday over Kansas City.

Rodriguez allowed one run on six hits over 6 1/3 innings. He walked one and struck out five.

“A bounce-back start for him, there’s no doubt. Three quality pitches tonight for strikes but most importantly his fastball location was outstanding for the time he was on the mound,” said manager John Farrell

Rodriguez's next start is Thursday, against Baltimore.

Eduardo Rodriguez suffers first career loss for Red Sox

by Shawn Krest | CBSSports.com
(6/14/15) Red Sox starter Eduardo Rodriguez suffered his first career loss, dropping to 2-1 after Sunday's game against Toronto.

"It was a little bit out of control," Rodriguez said, per MLB.com. "I just have to throw better pitches. You try to make the right pitches, they just got a lot of base hits."

Rodriguez allowed nine runs in 4 2/3 innings. He'd given up just one over his first 20 2/3 MLB innings. Rodriguez gave up eight hits and three walks, striking out one.

"I mean, I just tried to make good pitches, like you saw," Rodriguez said. "The rest, getting wild a bit, with balls. Stuff like that happens in the game."

Rodriguez's next start is Friday, at Kansas City.
