Francisco Lindor one of a dozen sent down by Indians
by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(3/12/14) Stud shortstop prospect Francisco Lindor headlined a group of 12 Indians reassigned to minor league camp on Wednesday. Lindor will likely open the season at Double-A Akron, but could be promoted to Triple-A quickly thereafter.

Other notable prospects sent down were outfielders Tyler Naquin and Carlos Moncrief, first baseman Jesus Aguilar, catcher Tony Wolters and pitcher Austin Adams.

Tony Wolters continuing foray into catching role
by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(2/5/14) Emerging Indians minor leaguer Tony Wolters is seeking to forge a career as a catcher despite his comparatively diminutive size. Wolters (5-10, 177) thrived in 2013 after making the switch from second base.

Wolters batted .277 at Class A Advanced Carolina last season, but was even more impressive behind the plate, throwing out 28 percent of those trying to steal and showing solid fundamentals for someone who had not played that position since his freshman year in high school.

A glut of middle infield prospects in the Indians organization prompted the switch for Wolters. The move at the major-league level of Carlos Santana out of the starting role at catcher could eventually give Wolters an opportunity to make it to the top if he performs well, though it does not appear that he has much power. Wolters has just 12 home runs in 1,190 minor-league at-bats.

Francisco Lindor, Tyler Naquin receive spring invites
by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com
(1/22/14) The Indians announced Wednesday they invited six players to spring training as non-roster invites. Among the players receiving invites were shortstop Francisco Lindor, who is considered the team's top prospect by Baseball America, and outfielder Tyler Naquin, who is considered the Indians' fourth-best prospect.

The remaining players receiving invites were catcher Jake Lowery, catcher Roberto Perez, infielder Joey Wendle and catcher Tony Wolters.

Cleveland prospect moving to catcher
by Jeff Lippman | CBSSports.com
(5/18/13) Indians prospect Tony Wolters is transitioning to catcher and will continue that development with Class A Carolina this season, MLB.com reports. Wolters had been considered a middle infielder.

"It's going really well," Wolters, 20, said. "I'm learning something new every day. It's fun. I like it a lot. You're looking at things from a different perspective, from a different standpoint on the field. I feel like it's making my overall game better."
