Jose Berrios could make next start despite shoulder issue
by R.J. White | CBSSports.com
(7/30/14) Twins pitching prospect Jose Berrios may not miss a start after coming out of Tuesday's game with shoulder tightness, MLB.com reports.

Berrios was removed for precautionary reasons, and the team still seems likely to skip him in the Double-A rotation if he is still feeling the aftereffects of the tightness in a few days. He owns a 4.58 ERA and 13:6 K:BB ratio with New Britian after an excellent stretch at high Class A Fort Myers.

Jose Berrios dealing with shoulder tightness
by R.J. White | CBSSports.com
(7/29/14) Twins pitching prospect Jose Berrios was removed from Tuesday's start after just 48 pitches due to shoulder tightness, the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.

Berrios had a 3.50 ERA and 13:4 K:BB ratio in three starts with Double-A New Britian entering Tuesday's game. He had previously dominated with high Class A Fort Meyers, posting a 1.96 ERA and 109:23 K:BB ratio in 96 1/3 innings over 16 starts.

Jose Berrios set to make Double-A debut
by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com
(7/9/14) Twins starting pitcher prospect Jose Berrios will make his debut for Double-A New Britain Wednesday.

The right-handed hurler was outstanding for Class A Fort Myers prior to his promotion. He went 9-3 with a 1.96 ERA and .218 opponents' batting average in 16 starts. He had one complete game shutout and 109 strikeouts in 96 1/3 innings.

No winter ball for Jose Berrios
by Scott White | Senior Fantasy Writer
(9/23/13) Coming off a disappointing year in which he went 7-7 with a 3.99 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and 8.7 strikeouts per nine innings in 19 starts for Class A Cedar Rapids, Twins pitching prospect Jose Berrios will not participate in the Puerto Rican winter league, according to the St. Paul Pioneer Press. General manager Terry Ryan said he wanted the 19-year-old to come back fresh.

"Berrios did not have the type of year we were hoping," Ryan said. "I don't think he threw the ball over the plate as much as he could or can or will. He's 19. That was a very good test for him. But it's just a matter of being aggressive in the zone. Nothing more."

Berrios shows his stuff in WBC
(3/12/13) Twins prospect Jose Berrios pitched for Team Puerto Rico in the World Baseball Classic and impressed his organization with his performance, according to MLB.com. Berrios allowed two runs on three hits over 1 2/3 innings and took the loss in the 4-2 defeat. The right-hander also struck out Yankees All-Star Robinson Cano. "I was impressed with his composure," general manager Terry Ryan said Monday. "He came back and got himself under control. I heard he threw hard and threw some nice changeups. It was a tough situation against tough competition at 18 years old. He started to crack a little but got it back, so I was impressed. And now they're going to Miami. He'll benefit from what he experienced."
