Red Sox recall Steven Wright, option down Noe Ramirez

by Shawn Krest | CBSSports.com
(7/4/15) The Red Sox recalled pitcher Steven Wright from Triple-A Pawtucket.

Wright is 2-3 with a 3.00 ERA in six starts at Pawtucket. He's 3-2 with a 4.15 ERA in previous stints with the Red Sox earlier this year.

To make room for Wright, the Sox optioned Noe Ramirez to Triple-A. Ramirez made his MLB debut and took the loss in the tenth inning of Friday's game.

“High number of innings out of the bullpen — we need a fresh arm and someone capable of going multiple innings,” manager John Farrell said, per WEEI.

Red Sox pitcher Noe Ramirez takes loss in first MLB game

by Shawn Krest | CBSSports.com
(7/4/15) Red Sox reliever Noe Ramirez made his MLB debut against Houston after being called up earlier in the day.

Ramirez entered in the tenth inning, hit the first batter he faced and gave up three singles in his inning of work. He gave up two earned and two unearned runs to take the loss.

Red Sox send down Jackie Bradley Jr., call up Noe Ramirez

by Shawn Krest | CBSSports.com
(7/3/15) The Red Sox sent struggling outfielder Jackie Bradley Jr. to Triple-A Pawtucket before Friday's game.

Bradley was sent down earlier this season after opening the year 0 for 11. In his second stint with the Red Sox, he was 4 for 22 (.182).

“The numbers are what they are,” manager John Farrell said per WEEI. “But, what you do see is a swing path that I think is more consistent than what it was a year ago. That was evident in spring training and he’s carried it through. He hasn’t had the production at the big league level. We know that there is a sizable gap between Triple-A and here and yet Jackie is still working his way to get his feet on the ground and be a consistent performer here.”

To replace Bradley on the roster, Boston called up Noe Ramirez , who was 4-0, 2.42 at Pawtucket.
