Ohman in the mix for closer's role?: The Chicago Sun-Times reports White Sox pitching coach Don Cooper has added two more names -- Hector Santiago and Will Ohman -- to the mix for the team's vacant closer's role. "Addison [Reed], Santiago, [Matt] Thornton, [Jesse] Crain, those are the guys we're talking about, right?'' Cooper said Sunday morning. "And hey, you know what? Will Ohman got a [two-inning] save yesterday, don't be surprised. You guys will find out. But right now they're all still going. Ohman just made it a five-horse race.'' (Updated 03/25/2012)

Fantasy Analysis
Ohman has just three career saves in 451 MLB appearances, so it seems like he is a long shot to win the closer's role. He seems better suited for a lefty specialist role. Despite Cooper's comments, Ohman shouldn't be on your Fantasy radar. If anything changes, then we will let you know. (Updated 03/25/2012).
05/15/2012 18:15 Tigers win with 8-run sixth inning
Miguel Cabrera, Ryan Raburn and Austin Jackson homered during an eight-run rally in the sixth inning Tuesday and the Detroit Tigers beat the Chicago White Sox 10-8.
A career situational lefty, the 34-year-old Ohman wouldn't even be on the radar Fantasy if not for a comment by White Sox pitching coach Don Cooper late in spring training suggesting the left-hander might actually have a shot at replacing the departed Sergio Santos at closer. With Matt Thornton, Jesse Crain and Addison Reed also at the mix, it's a long shot at best, but anyone mentioned as a closer candidate is worth owning in AL-only leagues. You wouldn't want to invest much in a guy who likely wouldn't hold up in the role even if he somehow got a legitimate shot at it, but Ohman is at least worth monitoring in deeper formats.
