Angels' Nick Tropeano walks three Wednesday
|by R.J. White | CBSSports.com|
|(3/25/15) Angels pitcher Nick Tropeano allowed three runs (one earned) on two hits and three walks in four innings while striking out two in his team's 4-3 win over the Indians Wednesday.
"I feel good," Tropeano said when asked about where he stands for a rotation spot, per MLB.com. "I feel like they know my stuff's there. I got a lot of swings-and-misses today. You can't focus on what you can't control. It's one of those things. You just take it day by day and just keep working hard."
Tropeano is in the mix for the fifth spot in the Angels rotation this spring. He's delivered a 3.48 ERA and 3:4 K:BB ratio in 10 1/3 innings.
Angels P Nick Tropeano trying to earn fifth spot
|by Dave Peters | CBSSports.com|
|(3/15/15) Angels pitcher Nick Tropeano is working to win the fifth spot in the team's starting rotation.
Although he gave up four hits in 3 1/3 innings on Saturday, he did not give up a run during his time on the mound.
"I felt more comfortable out there than my last outing," Tropeano said. "My last outing was my first outing to see an opposing batter in the batter's box and you kind of get amped up."
"[Today] I kind of fell back into my old routine, getting to start instead of coming out of the 'pen and I felt way better today than my previous outing."

|by Chris Cwik | CBSSports.com|
|(11/5/14) Newly-acquired Angels pitcher Nick Tropeano will compete for a spot in the team's rotation next year, according to the Los Angeles Times.
Tropeano spent most of last season in Triple-A. He posted a 3.03 ERA over 124 2/3 innings there. He was also able to make his major-league debut, starting four games with the Astros.

|by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com|
|(11/5/14) The Astros have acquired veteran backup catcher Hank Conger from the Angels for fellow catcher Carlos Perez and right-hander pitcher Nick Tropeano.
Conger compiled a .221/.293/.325 stat line in 2014 with four home runs and 25 RBI.
Astros announce rotation plans for final series
|by R.J. White | CBSSports.com|
|(9/23/14) The Astros named the team's probable starters for the final series of the season this weekend against the Mets, MLB.com reports.
Brad Peacock will get the start Friday as expected, while Samuel Deduno is slated to take the mound Saturday. Nick Tropeano has been tabbed to make the team's final start Sunday.
|2014 summary: Nick Tropeano rebounded from a mediocre showing at Double-A Corpus Christi in 2013, showing signs of progress in a season at Triple-A Oklahoma City. The 24-year-old went 9-5 with a 3.03 ERA in 20 starts and three relief appearances at Oklahoma City, and he joined the Astros' rotation when major league rosters expanded in September. In four starts with Houston, Tropeano was 1-3 with a 4.57 ERA. The Astros traded Tropeano and minor league catcher Carlos Perez to the Angels in an offseason deal that netted catcher Hank Conger.|
Playing time status: Tropeano will be a contender for the fifth starter's spot with the Angels.
2015 outlook: Though his first stint in the majors didn't go especially well, Tropeano could be a useful pitcher for owners in deeper mixed leagues. He made strides in his ability to pitch with control and induce swings-and-misses last season, and pitching at Angel Stadium could blunt the impact of his flyball tendencies.
