Injured Orioles prospect Hunter Harvey works bullpen session

(4/27/15) Orioles pitching prospect Hunter Harvey, who is working his way back from a slightly fractured fibula, threw 35 pitches in a bullpen session Monday, according to the Baltimore Sun, which is further speculating that he will pitch two innings in extended spring training Friday.

The 20-year-old Harvey showed great promise at Class A Delmarva in 2014 by posting a 7-5 record and 3.18 ERA with just 66 hits allowed in 87 2/3 innings. He walked 33 and struck out 106.

(4/11/15) Orioles pitcher Hunter Harvey is making progress on his return from a fracture in his fibula. Harvey started the season on the 15-day disabled list. 

He is no longer in a walking boot and, on Saturday, was able to make 50 throws from 60 feet.

(3/22/15) Orioles pitching prospect Hunter Harvey underwent a CT scan Sunday, and the test showed the pitcher has a slightly fractured fibula, masnsports.com reports.

Harvey will spend a month on crutches, and he'll need four-to-six weeks of recovery time, delaying the beginning of his season until May. He was hit by a line drive during a minor-league spring game Saturday.

(3/22/15) Orioles pitcher Hunter Harvey will undergo a CT scan on his injured ankle after X-rays came back clean Saturday, masnsports.com reports.

Harvey is reportedly walking around fine Sunday after being hit on the ankle by a line drive Saturday, but the team is being cautious with his health. He gave up just one unearned run in three innings this spring before being re-assigned to minor-league camp.

(3/21/15) Orioles' top pitching prospect Hunter Harvey was hit in the leg by a comebacker during a minor league game on Saturday. 

Harvey left the game in Fort Myers, and executive Dan Duquette said he would be examined by a doctor when he returned to Orioles' camp, per MASN's Steve Melewski.

X-rays came back negative on Harvey's ankle after the game, according to MASN.com.
