Justin Williams enjoying a 'dream come true'
|by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com|
|(7/28/13) Diamondbacks outfield prospect Justin Williams is off to a promising start in his pro career. The 17-year-old prospect, who was selected in the second round of the 2013 MLB draft, is batting .340 with one home run, seven doubles and 24 RBI in his first 23 games for the Arizona League Diamondbacks (rookie).
"It's going great," Williams said, per MLB.com. "This is a great organization and we have a fun group of guys. I'm just trying to stay focused and get better with every chance I get. It's a dream come true."
Williams credits a lot of his success to his new hitting coach -- former Diamondbacks and Cubs first baseman Mark Grace.
"He is just naturally gifted with the bat in his hand," Grace said. "He knows he's good, but he's not arrogant. He's one of those guys that hits when he wants to. It seems like every time there are a couple guys on base, mail it in. This kid is good."
