Harris, who has been sidelined with a groin injury, compiled a 1-1 record with a 3.10 ERA this season before going down. Cooney has performed well as a spot starter, but the return to health of Jaime Garcia resulted in his demotion to the minors.

|by Jason Lempert | Staff Writer|
|(7/24/15) Cardinals left-hander Tim Cooney established a new career-high with seven innings pitched in his start against the Braves on Friday. Cooney allowed two runs on five hits, while striking out five on the evening. He did not walk a batter, needing just 74 pitches to get through the seventh. He earned his first career victory, as the Cardinals went on to win 4-2.
Both runs Cooney allowed came in the sixth inning thanks to an RBI double and a wild pitch. Otherwise, Cooney was solid in his sixth big-league start.
The young lefty hasn't allowed more than three runs in any of his starts this year, as he now holds a fine 3.16 ERA.
